Workshop 9: Creating a HR Department
How does one create a HR department, especially when there hasn’t been one before? What role does HR paly in your company, and how do you structure the HR position to best support the company and its strategic plan? In this workshop we take HR professionals through everything they need to know to build their own HR department from scratch. From understanding the typical job functions, responsibilities, and duties that usually fall under HR’s umbrella, to creating programs, processes, and procedures that best support the company’s mission, vision, and value and strategic plan.
After this 4-hour course you will walk away with an understanding of:
- What are the typical functions, duties, and responsibilities that fall under the HR umbrella
- How to determine the size of HR department you needed to proper support your organization
- Each of the various HR positions/roles in an HR department and what they do
- How to create programs, processes, and procedures to best support your organization.

This workshop is designed for new HR professionals, however the topics covered are great reminders for HR professionals at all levels.
