Conducting an HR Audit of your HR department should be a priority on your to-do list whenever you start a new position as a HR Manager or HR Director, and you should revisit and review it at least every year going forward. This HR best practice ensures you are managing files and compliance in your organization in a thorough fashion, and you are correcting errors and oversights within your department. Join Kathy Henderson, Sr. HR Consultant with ATHR or Suzan Sturholm, President of ATHR for this 2-hour class that will walk you through ATHR’s detailed, attorney approved, HR Audit Checklist. You will participate in the discussion as we review each practice area of HR and it’s function to discover what you should be looking for to ensure compliance and best practice. At the end of the class, you will be able to create a detailed HR To-Do list for you and your HR team to direct your attention to in the months ahead.

We will follow the same agenda as we do when as are asked to come onsite with a client to conduct an HR Audit. We do this by reviewing each section of our 2024 30-page ATHR HR Audit Checklist, which is broken into three sections:

  • General Administration (which covers the various employment federal, state, and city laws compliance)
  • Safety Compliance
  • Best HR Practices

Once we go through the HR Audit, you will be able to create your own HR to-dos and takeaways to get started on your own HR audit for your department.
