SCHRA Chapter Meeting – Generational Gap (Part One)

October 11, 2018 @ 7:00 am - 11:00 am

There are four distinct generations in the workplace, each with its own worldview and its own work ethic. Some are fiercely loyal to the company, while others just want a job. It can cause a serious new problem for the workplace. It is the problem of distinct generations — the Veterans, the Baby Boomers, Gen X and Gen Y — working together and often colliding as their paths cross. Individuals with different values, different ideas, different ways of getting things done and different ways of communicating in the workplace have always existed. So, why is this becoming a problem now?

This seminar will explore the four distinct generations, their attitudes towards work, management and their preferred methods of communication, and some of the problems that can arise when generation gaps become obstacles to workplace communication and productivity. We will also discuss possible solutions to addressing these issues and concerns.

Who should attend? Leaders, managers, and HR professionals who work in organizations with multiple generations.

All Things HR will also host a Millennials (Deep Dive) on October 25th. Information for registration will be posted on Oct 11th.
